Bison gores Yellowstone customer, tosses her 10 feet, park officials say

A girl visiting Yellowstone National Park was gored by a bison and tossed into the air, park officers stated Tuesday.

The 25-year-old lady, who was visiting from Ohio, was not recognized in a information launch from the park.

The woman approached the female bison Monday morning after it came near a boardwalk at Black Sand Basin, near Old Trustworthy geyser, the park said.

Park guidelines require visitors to stay more than 25 yards from the animals, the most important mammals in North America, that are unpredictable, can high speeds of 35 mph and can bounce a number of feet.

An estimated 2,300 to five,500 bison stay on the park, they usually have injured extra folks than every other animal, the park stated.

When the visitor got here inside 10 ft of the animal, the bison impaled her and "tossed" her 10 ft in the air, the park stated.

The girl had puncture wounds and other accidents and was taken to a hospital in Idaho, the service mentioned. Her condition was unknown Tuesday.
