EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Alabama fugitive Casey White was taken into custody in Indiana, and his suspected accomplice, Vicky White, died Monday night from accidents sustained by a self-inflicted gunshot wound as authorities prepared to arrest the pair, legislation enforcement sources confirmed.

Based on the Vanderburgh County Sheriff, the police pursuit started when the couple was spotted close to the sheriff’s office and led to a rollover crash close to Evansville Regional Airport, WXIN reported.

Casey White surrendered to police following the crash.

“This escape was clearly well-planned and calculated. Lots of preparation went into this. That they had plenty of assets, had tags, had autos. They had everything they wanted to tug this off,” Singleton said during a Monday evening press conference.

“We got a dangerous man off the street at the moment. He's never going to see the sunshine of day again, and that’s a superb factor, not only for our community but that’s an excellent factor for this country,” he added.

Evansville is about 175 miles north of Williamson County, Tennessee, the place authorities on Thursday found the orange 2007 Ford Edge the pair used in their April 29 escape, the news outlet reported.
