Florida man will get life in jail for touring to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors – WFTV

TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison for touring to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors he met on-line, in keeping with officials.

The U.S. Division of Justice says Christopher Edwin Day, 52, traveled two different times in 2015 and 2016 to Vietnam from Florida to have sexual encounters with minor Vietnamese boys. Courtroom records say he flew backwards and forwards disguising himself as an English trainer.

Among the boys, in response to the DOJ, have been lured with promises of money and presents. Others launched him as their English instructor.

The Tampa Bay Information says Homeland Security investigated the case in Tampa and in Ho Chi Minh Metropolis. It was part of Project Safe Childhood, which was an effort to search out youngster intercourse abuse began in 2006 by the DOJ.

“The laws of the USA will still catch as much as child predators who even journey to international international locations to sexually abuse minor youngsters. Because of HSI’s worldwide investigative authorities and powerful partnerships, each at HSI Tampa and HSI Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, this sexual predator was stopped from harming more children and his sufferer may have the justice they deserve,” said HSI Tampa Assistant Particular Agent in Cost John Dumas, based on a news release from mentioned HSI Tampa Assistant Special Agent in Cost John Dumas.

Day pleaded guilty to 2 counts of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct and two counts of tried coercion and enticement of a minor into unlawful sexual exercise, according to the DOJ. Day has been sentenced to life in prison.
