TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison for touring to Vietnam to sexually abuse minors he met on-line, in keeping with officials.

The U.S. Division of Justice says Christopher Edwin Day, 52, traveled two different times in 2015 and 2016 to Vietnam from Florida to have sexual encounters with minor Vietnamese boys. Courtroom records say he flew backwards and forwards disguising himself as an English trainer.

Among the boys, in response to the DOJ, have been lured with promises of money and presents. Others launched him as their English instructor.

The Tampa Bay Information says Homeland Security investigated the case in Tampa and in Ho Chi Minh Metropolis. It was part of Project Safe Childhood, which was an effort to search out youngster intercourse abuse began in 2006 by the DOJ.
