Gabe Kapler: ‘I do not plan on popping out for the anthem going ahead until I feel higher about the route of our country’

Talking within the dugout of the Great American Ballpark in Cincinnati, Ohio, Kapler stated, "I don't plan on coming out for the anthem going forward until I really feel higher concerning the route of our nation."

"We weren't given bravery, and we aren't free. The police on the scene put a mother in handcuffs as she begged them to go in and save her children. They blocked parents making an attempt to organize to cost in to stop the shooter, including a father who realized his daughter was murdered while he argued with the cops. We aren't free when politicians decide that the lobbyist and gun industries are extra essential than our youngsters's freedom to go to school without having bulletproof backpacks and lively shooter drills," Kapler wrote.

Later, Kapler wrote about his disillusionment with what he referred to as "the dearth of delivery of the promise of what our national anthem represents."

"I am not okay with the state of this country. I wish I hadn't let my discomfort compromise my integrity. I wish that I could have demonstrated what I realized from my dad, that if you're dissatisfied along with your nation, you let or not it's recognized through protest. The home of the brave ought to encourage this."

Kerr refused to speak about basketball ahead of Game 4 of the Warriors' series against the Dallas Mavericks, instead elevating his voice as he railed towards gun violence within the wake of Tuesday's capturing.

"In the last 10 days, we've had elderly Black folks killed in a grocery store in Buffalo, we've had Asian churchgoers killed in Southern California, now we have youngsters murdered in school," Kerr informed reporters at first of the press conference.

"When are we going to do one thing? I'm tired. I am so uninterested in getting up right here and providing condolences to the devastated households that are out there ... I am uninterested in the moments of silence. Enough."
