"You see news each day about youngsters getting shot and folks your age dying and it's just extremely unhappy and unbelievable, especially to see like youngsters younger and children my age," Janoff informed ABC Information. "I cant imagine that being me; but it's possible because it occurs so typically."

The 17 year-old says her faculty's administration was in help of the walkout and she or he hopes the over 200 planned demonstrations throughout the nation ship a transparent message that students are a "united entrance."

A walkout could not necessarily change laws, Janoff stated, but these actions show "college students are still united on this."

She stated that although most students aren't old enough to vote, they still wish to see change and are prepared to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.

"Students do not have to be quiet about it simply because they seem to be a kid," Janoff said.
