"You see news on daily basis about youngsters getting shot and folks your age dying and it's just incredibly sad and unbelievable, particularly to see like kids younger and kids my age," Janoff instructed ABC Information. "I cant think about that being me; however it is imaginable as a result of it occurs so often."
The 17 year-old says her faculty's administration was in assist of the walkout and she hopes the over 200 planned demonstrations across the nation send a transparent message that college students are a "united front."
A walkout could not necessarily change legislation, Janoff mentioned, but these actions present "students are still united on this."
She said that although most college students aren't old enough to vote, they nonetheless want to see change and are willing to take measures to have their voices heard in politics.
"Students don't should be quiet about it simply because they're a child," Janoff said.
