Taliban chief orders girls to put on all-covering burqa in public: Decree

Afghanistan’s supreme chief and Taliban chief on Saturday ordered the country’s ladies to put on the all-covering burqa in public - one of the harshest controls imposed on women’s lives for the reason that Taliban seized energy.

“They need to put on a chadori (head-to-toe burqa) as it's traditional and respectful,” stated a decree issued by Hibatullah Akhundzada that was launched by Taliban authorities at a operate in Kabul.

“Those ladies who aren't too outdated or younger should cowl their face, except the eyes, as per sharia directives, in order to keep away from provocation when assembly men who are usually not mahram (adult close male kinfolk),” the decree stated.

It added that if girls had no important work outdoors it was “better they stay at home.”
